General Services
Participants may request assistance in general service areas but must have a focus on a career or job attainment goal. These services are tailored to the needs of each individual. Staff will schedule these individual services on an as needed basis.
These services include but not limited to:
• Cover Letter and Resume Writing
• Letters of Reference or Recommendation
• Job Search
• Job Readiness Preparation
• Assistance in filling out employment applications.
• Assistance in filing for unemployment insurance benefits
• Assistance in filling out college forms, such as, FAFSA and various scholarship applications.
Types of Services
Basic Core Services: Strictly informational, self- assisted, and will not require significant staff involvement. Which includes the distribution of labor market trends, the unemployment rate, job/training announcements and any information relating to the current job market. Eligibility certification or program enrollment is not required.
Qualifying Core Services: include significant staff involvement in helping beyond the informational Basic Core Services. Regardless of the length of time involved, a staff member determines an applicant for a participant status.
At enrollment, staff assesses a participant’s skills, education, or career objectives in order to provide any of the following services:
• Assist participants in deciding on appropriate next steps in the search for employment, training, and related services including job referral.
• Assist participants in assessing their personal barriers to employment.
• Assist participants in accessing their related services necessary to enhance their employability and individual employment related needs.
Supportive Services
Assistance for newly employed individuals and used strictly for sustaining employment. Supportive Services may provide assistance depending on the participant’s assessment of need. Services include but not limited to:
• Tools
• Eyeglasses
• Transportation
• Uniforms
• Testing Fees (excluding late fees/penalties)
Other necessary items to maintain employment.
Classroom Training (CRT)
There are 3 types of classroom training available:
1. Occupational Skills Training
a. College (up to Associate’s Degree)
b. Vocational Training
c. Vocational Certification
2. Adult Basic Education
a. Preparation
b. Classroom Training
c. Testing Fees
3. Assistance for High School Completion
a. Services may include credit recovery assistance.
If applying for Occupational Skills Training or Educational Support, please submit the following along with the required documentation:
1) Acceptance letter from the school you will be attending.
2) Proof of completed FAFSA.
3) Student Aid Report (SAR)
4) Financial Needs Analysis
5) Past grades or transcripts from previous post-secondary institutions attended.
The WIOA program will serve eligible participants after a personal screening, and intake of all eligibility criteria is submitted. After the intake applications process, the participant is counseled as to the best approach to take in regard to employment or skill attainment.

Shared Intiatives
In addition to our employment and training programs, we co-sponsor the Kewa TRUTH Youth Council, affiliated with United National Indian Tribal Youth (UNITY), Inc. The Council offers personal and professional development opportunities, including attending UNITY's annual Midyear and National conferences. This is a great chance to connect with other Indigenous youth, participate in community projects, and explore your future!
